LEARN TO TELL THE DIFFERENCES between your allergies, a cold, the flu, and the onset of covid-19 by carefully reading the article from the Mayo Clinic provided by our Parish Nurse. Click on these words: COVID-19, cold, allergies and the flu: What are the differences?
COMMONWEALTH HEALTH FIRST HOSPITAL HAS A TEMPORARY CRISIS LOCATION DETAILS BELOW…
We would like to remind residents and staff that behavioral health Crisis Services are available as always at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital ER 575 River St Wilkes-Barre. We understand that some people may be reluctant to go to the ER so Crisis Services will be available at a secondary location of Community Counseling Services 110 S Pennsylvania Ave Wilkes-Barre. The new location is open weekdays from 8 am to 4:00 pm and phone number is 570-552-6000.
Acute anxiety and depression are arising in people who would never have known it otherwise and are even less prepared to manage it. Stefanie from Wyoming Valley Alcohol and Drug Services has shared a couple of resources to help us learn to cope. Check out this phenomenal resource for relaxing. It is from the Navy and Marine Corps Public Health Center, and is chock-full of resources (check the wording ¾ though the website address – “Relax-Relax”): https://www.med.navy.mil/sites/nmcphc/health-promotion/psychological-emotional-wellbeing/relax-relax/pages/introduction.html
Here is the next resource: https://18percent.org/about/
About 18percent: “18percent is a free online Slack (a workplace chat application) community for anyone living with a mental health issue – no matter how small or large. We understand the issue is widespread. In fact, in 2017 when we were founded, 18.9% of Americans were living with mental illness, and today the stat is closer to 1 in 5. That’s why we created a community for folks to meet like-minded people. It can be hard to talk to someone who may not understand first-hand what you’re going through. On 18percent you can chat in real-time with 1000s of people from around the world.” It is free, anonymous and anyone may join.
